ISO published new technical specification ISO/TS 34700:2016, Animal welfare management – General requirements and guidance for organizations in the food supply chain at the end 2016.

In January 2017 was published the second version of IFS Global Markets Food. Based on the experience with the first version of the checklist, which focused on food safety requirements, aspects regarding quality where added. The initiative is named the IFS Global Markets – Food program, version 2 and will provide “small and/or less developed businesses” assistance in the supply of safe and high quality products and to make the first steps in implementation of IFS Food.

The audit process is an important tool and an integral part of the strategy VDA “Quality Standard of the German Automotive Industry (VDA 6).”
There is agreement between automobile manufacturers and suppliers of the execution of audits according to VDA 6.3 requirements.

IFS Food doctrine was published on the 12 of December 2016. This document provides additional clarification to the IFS Food Standard published in April 2014. The doctrine is available to certification bodies, certified companies and all other IFS users. You can find the document here. All explanations and decisions of this document apply from the date of its publication.

The 4th issue BRC Global Standard Consumers Products was published in November 2016.

Issue 4 brings a marked change in structure in the requirements, to reflect the needs of the market. It is composed of two new Standards: Personal Care and Household, and General Merchandise. Each Standard is composed of requirements that can be certificated at two levels: foundation and higher.
