In January 2017 was published the second version of IFS Global Markets Food. Based on the experience with the first version of the checklist, which focused on food safety requirements, aspects regarding quality where added. The initiative is named the IFS Global Markets – Food program, version 2 and will provide “small and/or less developed businesses” assistance in the supply of safe and high quality products and to make the first steps in implementation of IFS Food.
The program’s objective is to facilitate market access, create mutual acceptance along the supply chain and provide a framework for mentoring, developing and assessing small and less developed companies. The program includes a protocol to drive the continuous improvement process regarding food safety and quality.
