Updated Sanctioned Interpretations and Frequently Asked Questions were determined and approved by the IATF and were pulished on April 12.
The approved sanctioned interpretations are related to sections 7.1.5.3.2 and 8.5.6.1.1.
Sanctioned interpretations alter the existing published requirements of the IATF 16949:2016
standard. These changes are being communicated in April 2018 and are effective as of 1st June 2018.
Also, in response to questions from the IATF recognized certification bodies and stakeholders, the questions and answers were reviewed by the IATF. Unless otherwise indicated, Frequently Asked Questions are applicable upon publication.
FAQs further clarify an existing requirement; no change has been made to the respective
requirements in the IATF 16949:2016 automotive quality management system standard as a
result of these FAQs.
The answers explain requirements regarding the documented processes and the requirements of the IATF 16949 sections 4.4.1.2, 7.1.5.3.2, 8.3.2.3, 8.4.2.4.1, 8.5.6.1.1, 9.2.2.2, 9.2.2.3, 9.2.2.4.
Frequently asked questions are effective since the date of publication.
